04/04/2024 The ODU Virginia Modeling, Analysis & Simulation Center (VMASC) is hosting a FREE two-hour Instructor-led training program Friday, April 24th, 2024 from 1-3 PM Eastern Time. Supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration (US SBA), this training is the first in five designed to empower small business owners with essential cyber awareness skills.  Participation is available in person at the ODU VMASC or can be joined virtually.  Click here to register.  For more information, refer to this NNS Supplier Notification.

06/07/23 The DLA has implemented new changes to the Joint Certification Program (JCP) application process to include a new JCP portal.  Access to the portal requires a Two-Factor Authentication using Google Authenticator.  As a supplier requiring a JCP, we encourage your organization to set up your account in the portal and read through the new requirements as soon as possible.  Being proactive will ensure there are no disruptions when it comes to renew the JCP.  For your convenience, please see the JCP External User access Manual here.  It is also available on the DLA website.

04/21/23 The Public Contracting Institute is offering a free initial class (in a series) titled “Protecting Sensitive Information and the CMMC” and will be held on April 27, 2023 @ 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm.  The initial class is expected to discuss and provide important guidance for government contractors seeking to ensure compliance with the government’s rapidly expanding cybersecurity requirements. Contractors will learn about new developments under the Biden Administration’s Cybersecurity Executive Order as well as existing statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to contractors. Discussion will cover key agency provisions and definitions (CUI, CDI, NIST, SPRS, etc.) with focus on the defense industrial base (FAR requirements, DFARS Assessments, CMMC), cyber considerations for owners and operators of information technology systems, and best practices for compliance.  Click HERE to register.

Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) holds quarterly contractor business meetings for suppliers currently supporting NNS facilities and waterfront support (FWS) maintenance efforts. These meetings convey recent changes in processes or procedures, environmental health and safety notices, as well as updates to contract documents, forms, and references. These meetings are mandatory for contractors working with NNS FWS departments and any contractor employee attending must have a valid access badge. Recent presentation can be viewed below.
