We commit to good faith efforts to increase total representation of women and people of color across all levels of leadership in accordance with our annual affirmative action plan.

EMPLOYEE RESOURCE GROUPS (ERGS)

Led by executive sponsors and open to all HII employees, our ERGs provide opportunities for personal and professional development, leadership, mentoring, volunteerism, networking, and cultural enrichment. These employee-run networks connect employees who want to become more engaged with their colleagues, and the company. ERGs also support our recruiting, retention, and sustainability programs. 

Perhaps most importantly, ERGs give employees a voice.

African American Shipbuilders Association (AASA)
AASA fosters professional and career development of African American employees. AASA has a strong commitment to community service and programs that improve education, promote cultural awareness and diversity within communities.

Asian & Pacific Islander Shipbuilding Association (APSA)
APSA is dedicated to Asian & Pacific Islander affinity and cultural awareness, diversity & inclusion, developing leaders, learning and development, providing opportunities, networking, and serving shipbuilders, and communities.

Generational Integration Focus Team (GIFT)
GIFT is an all-inclusive multi-generational employee resource group committed to fostering leadership through community involvement, professional development and networking. The organization draws employees of all ages, races and professional backgrounds from across the company.

Hispanic Outreach and Leadership Alliance (HOLA)
The Hispanic Outreach & Leadership Alliance is an all-inclusive employee resource group committed to fostering leadership through networking, professional development and community involvement in concert with Shipbuilding business objectives.

Ingalls Shipbuilding Equality Alliance (ISEA)
ISEA is dedicated to creating a safe, productive and inclusive workplace for members and allies of the LGBT community through education and outreach opportunities. ISEA’s mission is to foster leadership, increase engagement and personal commitment, and form a network of individuals who value diversity.

Ingalls Shipbuilding Health Is a Priority (ISHIP)
ISHIP promotes the improvement of the workforce’s health and wellness physically, mentally, and financially through education and participation. ISHIP supports and aligns with the company’s health and wellness initiatives.

Shipbuilding Women Engineers (SWE)
SWE is committed to acknowledging the accomplishments of women engineers, promoting advancement of members, and providing a non-work way of developing members. Members participate in outreach programs for colleges, school-age children, and young women engineers.

Veterans Employee Resource Team (VERT)
Veterans Employee Resource Team (VERT) works to enhance the image of the company with employees, customers, and communities through their diversity of military experience, traditions, and customs.

They foster the professional and career development of all employees. VERT is a veterans ERG open to all employees.

Women in Shipbuilding Enterprise (WiSE)
Women In Shipbuilding Enterprise (WISE) is a networking group focused on fostering a diverse work environment through collaboration, enabling positive performance, retention, and growth by developing top talent, coaching for success, and image enhancement.

Veterans Alliance Network (VAN)
The VAN fosters a military friendly culture that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion through recruiting, mentorship, professional development, and employee and community engagement.​​​​​​​

VOICE: Empowering Black Leaders for Change
The VOICE ERG mission is to foster networking, professional development, mentoring, and leadership opportunities with a focus on the recruitment, retention, learning and advancement of Black employees and allies.

Women in Business (WiB)

EMPOWER – Asian Pacific Americans: Celebrating Heritage. Building Futures.
EMPOWER is a professional network of Asian/Pacific American (APA) employees at HII Mission Technologies serving as an Employee Resource Group (ERG) for the benefit of all of APA employees and their allies. EMPOWER’s mission is to build a supportive community where APA employees and allies are empowered and welcomed to represent and share their diverse cultures while contributing to the success and growth of HII.

Asian Shipbuilders Including All Nationalities (ASIAN)
Asian Shipbuilders Including All Nationalities creates a forum to bring Asian American employees together to network and share our culture and experiences with each other and our colleagues. We strive to create alliances that enhance professional and leadership opportunities for our member to benefit the company and our communities through education, diversity awareness, community service, and organization growth.

FitNNS 
FitNNS promotes employee driven group that encourages improved physical health and wellness among shipbuilders of all fitness levels.

Shipbuilders of Huntington Ingalls Professionals Network creates social and professional networking opportunities for new and transferring employees, connecting them across Huntington Ingalls Industries to foster assimilation, knowledge sharing, and retention. SHIPs Network fosters networking and knowledge sharing, building of friendships and provides opportunities to become involved in corporate and public service.

Shipbuilders Together Realizing Inclusion, Diversity and Equality (STRIDE)
STRIDE is organized and operated for the advancement of the social welfare and equal treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees. By serving as a support network and educational resource for HII LGBT employees, their friends, families and colleagues, STRIDE strives to make a difference in the quality of life at work through professional development, mutual understanding, corporate responsibility and community outreach.

The Veterans Employee Resource Groups work to enhance the image of the company with employees, customers, and community through our diverse military experience, traditions, and customs and to foster the professional and career development of all employees.

Women in Shipbuilding Enterprise foster a diverse work environment through networking and teaming, promoting positive performance, and employee growth. To support our ongoing efforts to attract and reach a wider candidate audience, we actively partner with HBCUs, veteran organizations and organizations that support the hiring of individuals with disabilities. Some of our divisions have recruiters focused exclusively on hiring veterans and individuals with disabilities.

Our “Gender Transition in the Workplace” initiative provides support to employees considering or undergoing gender transition and guidance to leaders and coworkers to help them understand their responsibilities.
