Thomas E. Stiehle

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT AND CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Thomas E. Stiehle is executive vice president and chief financial officer of HII, America’s largest military shipbuilding company and a provider of professional services to partners in government and industry.

Stiehle was promoted to the position in February 2021 after serving as vice president and CFO at HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding division. In this role, Tom directs HII’s corporate strategy and processes in support of business growth and profitability goals. He is also responsible for corporate business management functions, including investor relations, treasury, internal audit, contracts, accounting, financial reporting, planning and analysis, rates and budgets, and mergers and acquisition.

As CFO at Ingalls, Tom oversaw all financial, contracts, estimating and pricing, finance and business management functions, as well as Information Technology functionality and services at Ingalls. Previously, Tom served as vice president, Contracts and Pricing for Ingalls and was responsible for estimating, pricing, contract negotiations and administration. Prior to joining HII in 2011, Tom worked for Northrop Grumman, Aerospace Sector, for 24 years.

Tom began his career with Grumman Aircraft Corp. as a design engineer, with tours in Product Operations, Estimating and Pricing, and Contracts, securing awards for both Department of Defense and commercial programs. He held positions of increasing responsibility within the business organization to include contracts & pricing manager, business manager and director of business management, overseeing all production business operations at Northrop Grumman’s Joint-STARS program valued at more than $3 billion.
