Rob Check

Vice President, In-Service Aircraft Carrier Programs

Rob Check is vice president of In-Service Aircraft Carrier Programs for Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, located in Newport News, Virginia. Named to this position in 2023, Check is responsible for planning and executing aircraft carrier refueling and complex overhaul programs and carrier inactivations.

Check is a second-generation shipbuilder with more than two decades of experience in both submarine and aircraft carrier construction. He previously served in the New Construction Aircraft Carrier Program as program director for Enterprise (CVN 80) and Doris Miller (CVN 81), where he led NNS’ successful two-ship buy effort.  Prior to his current appointment, Check served as program director for the Virginia-Class Submarine (VCS) Program.

Check earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from West Virginia University.
