Susan is Vice President of Human Resources & Administration (HR&A) at Ingalls Shipbuilding. In this role, she is responsible for leading all aspects of the human resources function related to the attraction, development and retention of the workforce.
Areas of responsibility include talent acquisition, labor and employee relations, compensation and benefits, learning and
development, and diversity and inclusion.
Susan joined the HII team in 2007, serving as Director of HR&A at Ingalls and Vice President of HR&A at Newport News Shipbuilding. Susan has worked in the human resources industry since 1986 in various positions of responsibility, including Senior Director of Human Resources at L-3 Vertex Aerospace.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with an emphasis on marketing from The University of Southern Mississippi. Additionally, she holds professional certifications from the Society for Human Resource Management. Susan is also active in the community,
serving on the board of directors for Boys & Girls Club of the Gulf Coast, on the foundation board of Bishop State University and on the advisory board of University of South Alabama’s Mitchell School of Business.
