Brian Blanchette

VICE PRESIDENT, QUALITY AND ENGINEERING

Brian Blanchette is vice president, Quality and Engineering for Ingalls Shipbuilding, a division of HII. In this role, Brian is responsible for the formulation, management and oversight of the division’s quality program, research & development, ship design engineering, integrated logistics support (ILS) and planning yard programs.

Prior to this position, Brian held positions in business development supporting multiple international programs, served as technical lead for Ingalls LCS proposal offering, as ship design manager for various platforms, and as ship program manager for Ralph Johnson (DDG 114).

Brian joined Ingalls Shipbuilding as an associate naval architect with Research & Development in 1996 and has served in a number of diverse roles over his 25 year career at Ingalls. Most recently, he served as director of Technical & Design Engineering, responsible for his team’s execution of DDG Flight III, LHA 8 and LPD 28, 29 and 30 design efforts as well as supporting resolution of technical issues across all ship classes during construction.

Brian earned a bachelor of science in naval architecture and marine engineering from the University of Michigan. In 2015, he attended the Center for Corporate Education program through The College of William & Mary’s Raymond A. Mason School of Business.

In 2019, Brian was recognized as a Forever Young award recipient by Coast Young Professionals.
