HII AWARDED $142.7 MILLION CONTRACT FOR SUBMARINE ENGINEERING AND INDUSTRIAL WORK
Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE:HII) announced today that its Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) division was awarded a cost-plus-fixed-fee, level-of-effort contract option valued at $142.7 million from the U.S. Navy. The contract option is for work on operational and decommissioning U.S. Navy submarines, conversion submarines, special mission submersibles, submarine support facilities and related programs.

Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) will christen the
nation's newest Virginia-class submarine, Minnesota (SSN 783),
on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the company's Newport News
Shipbuilding (NNS) division. Media are invited to attend the
ceremony as well as a media preview event Friday, Oct. 26, in
advance of the festivities. The preview event will provide an
opportunity to interview Minnesota shipbuilders and sailors, as
well as ship's sponsor Ellen Roughead, a Minnesota native and wife
of former Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Gary Roughead.

Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE:HII) was recognized today by the Virginia Department of Veterans Services for its efforts to hire and retain veterans. HII President and CEO Mike Petters formally accepted the Virginia Values Veterans (V3) certificate at the V3 Conference in Norfolk. HII was one of nine companies recognized at the conference.

MULTIMEDIA RELEASE — INGALLS SHIPBUILDING DELIVERS COMPOSITE DECKHOUSE FOR ZUMWALT (DDG 1000)
Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE:HII) announced that the company's Ingalls Shipbuilding division has delivered the composite deckhouse for the destroyer Zumwalt (DDG 1000) to the U.S. Navy. The 900-ton deckhouse provides an advanced structure to house the ship's bridge, radars, antennas and intake/exhaust systems and is designed to provide a significantly smaller radar cross-section than any other ship in today's fleet.
