NEWPORT NEWS SHIPBUILDING’S CAREER PATHWAYS PROGRAM RECEIVES TWO CREATING EXCELLENCE AWARDS
Newport News Shipbuilding's (NNS) Career Pathways program received two awards from the Virginia Department of Education for its partnership with Newport News City Public Schools' Heritage High School. NNS, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE:HII), has been supporting the high school's STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) initiatives for students. Because of its commitment to education in the community, Career Pathways received the State of Virginia Creating Excellence Award and the Region 2 of Virginia Creating Excellence Secondary Business and Industry Partnership Award.

Twenty-eight apprentices from Newport News Shipbuilding's Apprentice School were among the 418,500 Americans who gave their lives to protect America's freedom during World War II. To honor these fallen heroes, maritime artist Thomas C. Skinner painted the "Memorial Mural" in 1947. Now, more than 70 years later, the mural will get a restorative facelift.

MEDIA ADVISORY: USS ENTERPRISE (CVN 65) EMBARKS ON FINAL VOYAGE FOR INACTIVATION
With a famous 50-year career as the Navy's first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, USS Enterprise (CVN 65) will come full circle, returning to the shipyard that built her for the first inactivation of an aircraft carrier. About 100 shipbuilders who helped construct and maintain the ship over her lifetime will ride aboard for her final voyage, and the whistles and horns of docked ships and NNS will blow to honor "Big E's" return.

INGALLS SHIPBUILDING AWARDED $76.8 MILLION ADVANCE PROCUREMENT CONTRACT FOR SEVENTH NSC
Huntington Ingalls Industries' (NYSE:HII) Ingalls Shipbuilding division today received a $76.8 million fixed-price contract from the U.S. Coast Guard to purchase long-lead materials for Kimball (WMSL 756), the company's seventh National Security Cutter (NSC). Construction and delivery will be performed at the company's Pascagoula facility.

HUNTINGTON INGALLS INDUSTRIES REPORTS FOURTH QUARTER AND 2012 RESULTS; POSTS STRONG YEAR-OVER-YEAR IMPROVEMENT IN SEGMENT PERFORMANCE
Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE:HII) reported fourth quarter 2012 revenues of $1.82 billion, up 5.1 percent from the same period last year. Segment operating income for the fourth quarter was $140 million, compared to $127 million in the same period last year. Total operating income for the fourth quarter was $106 million, compared to $121 million in the same period last year. Pension-adjusted total operating income for the fourth quarter was $131 million, or 7.2 percent of revenue, compared to $118 million, or 6.8 percent of revenue in the comparable period of 2011, which excludes the $10 millionnon-cash goodwill impairment finalization adjustment. The increase was primarily attributable to improved segment operating performance at Ingalls.
