NEWPORT NEWS, Va., Nov. 06, 2020 — Huntington Ingalls Industries’ (NYSE: HII) Ingalls Shipbuilding and Newport News Shipbuilding divisions have achieved national gold level recognition from the American Heart Association for taking significant steps to build a culture of health in the workplace.

The recognition is based on the AHA’s 2020 Workplace Health Achievement Index, which is a web-based scorecard that looks at organizational best practices and aggregates employee health data to evaluate the overall quality and comprehensiveness of workplace health programs.

“The importance of cultivating and maintaining a healthy workforce in our industry cannot be overstated,” said Bill Ermatinger, HII’s executive vice president and chief human resources officer. “Our people are our greatest asset, and it is critical that we continuously invest in their health and wellness.”

PASCAGOULA, Miss., Nov. 06, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) announced today that it has opened a new mobile dental clinic located beside the company’s HII Family Health Center in Gautier. Onsite Dental offers convenient access to full-service dental care, including exams and X-rays.

“The mission of Onsite Dental is to help employees be healthier and happier by making high-quality dental care more accessible,” said Edmond Hughes, Ingalls vice president of human resources and administration. “The health and well-being of our workforce is a priority at Ingalls, and this mobile clinic will help ensure that we are doing everything possible to provide our shipbuilders and their families with the best available healthcare options.”

The new mobile unit, operated by Onsite Dental, offers comprehensive dental care with a dentist and dental hygienist on staff. HII also has an Onsite Dental clinic at its HII Family Health Center in Newport News, Va. The clinics have the ability to offer patients preventive, restorative, periodontal, endodontic, oral surgery, orthodontia and cosmetic dentistry.

PASCAGOULA, Miss., July 1, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE:HII) opened the doors to its first Family Health Center today. The facility, located at 2105 Old Spanish Trail in Gautier, is now open to all eligible employees at HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding division and their covered dependents.

“Our workforce is the heart of the shipyard, and helping our employees stay healthy is very important to our continued success,” said Ingalls Shipbuilding President Brian Cuccias. “This facility shows our commitment to provide excellent healthcare and wellness options for our employees and their families.”

A visit to the health center is only $15, and all preventive care visits are free. Employees also have access to the on-site pharmacy, where they can receive a generic 30-day prescription for $3 or a 90-day supply for $6. The health center will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.

The Family Health Center in Mississippi is one of two new centers opening for HII employees. A second health center is being built at HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding division in Virginia. The centers are part of HII’s larger benefits strategy designed to engage employees and their families in their own health and wellness and make quality healthcare more accessible.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va., April 20, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE:HII) announced today that Ritchie-Curbow Construction Company, Inc. has been awarded the contract to build the new Huntington Ingalls Industries Family Health Center at its Newport News Shipbuilding division. The health center, scheduled to open this fall on Washington Avenue between 45th and 46th streets in Newport News, will offer primary care, radiology, physical therapy, laboratory services and an on-site pharmacy for eligible Newport News employees and their covered dependents.

The lot on Washington Avenue has been sectioned off to begin construction of the future health center. When complete, the 21,894-square foot facility will have 19 exam rooms in addition to five specialty exam rooms and two pediatric exam rooms. A section of the building will be dedicated to physical therapy, including five physical therapy exam rooms. Additionally, the building will have X-ray and chemistry labs and other rooms for education and meetings. The health center will also have an in-house, full service pharmacy complete with drive-through service.

The health center will be operated by QuadMed, a nationally recognized innovator in offering on-site primary care centers and healthcare management solutions. When it opens, services will be available to non-represented employees and their dependents enrolled in eligible Anthem consumer-driven health plan or preferred-provider option plans. Union leadership has expressed interest in making the health center available to the represented population, and discussions have begun.
