MCLEAN, Va., (Dec. 5, 2024) — HII (NYSE: HII) announced that its Mission Technologies division was awarded a five-year contract to support research and analysis for the U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s (AFLCMC) Propulsion Directorate.
An HII team in Dayton, Ohio, and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, will use digital engineering tools and processes to develop lifecycle management and resiliency strategies for major propulsion systems and subsystems for the U.S. Air Force, joint services and coalition partners.
“Development, production, fielding and maintenance of propulsion systems for U.S. military aircraft is essential to maintain the U.S. military advantage,” said Grant Hagen, president of Mission Technologies’ Warfare Systems group. “HII is proud to be part of the team to ensure systems utilized by military aircraft crews are state of the art, reliable and maintainable.”
Located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and Tinker Air Force Base, the AFLCMC Propulsion Directorate is responsible for research, development, production, test, acquisition, delivery, sustainment, and modernization of USAF propulsion systems and associated support for multiple coalition partners.
As the Propulsion Center of Excellence for the U.S. Air Force and international partners, the Propulsion Directorate is responsible for improving readiness for fielded platforms while simultaneously driving innovation to deliver solutions for the future fleet.

HII was awarded the task order under the Department of Defense’s Information Analysis Center (IAC) Multiple Award Contract (MAC) vehicle. IAC MAC task orders are awarded by the U.S. Air Force’s 774th Enterprise Sourcing Squadron to develop and create new knowledge for the enhancement of the Defense Technical Information Center repository and the research and development and science and technology community.
