• The NNS Employee Referral Program procedures and guidelines will be effective for salaried and trades new hire orientations beginning on Sept. 1, 2025, and beyond.
  • The current NNS employee must submit the referral while the position is posted, while applications are still being accepted, and PRIOR to the candidate receiving an employment offer from NNS.
  • A monetary referral award will be paid/honored to an NNS employee if the new hire candidate is hired to the department/position/position level as noted on the initial referral.
  • A monetary referral award will be paid/honored to an NNS employee if the new hire candidate is hired to the same department/same exact type of position/same exact position level; but under a different position number as was indicated from the initial referral that was made by the NNS employee.
  • A monetary referral award will not be paid/honored to an NNS employee if the new hire candidate is hired to a different department and to a different type of position or position level that was indicated from the initial referral that was made by the NNS employee.
  • A monetary referral award will not be issued if the candidate has already received an offer, is going through the on-boarding process, or has started at NNS.
  • If the candidate was already in NNS’ job applicant system and had previously applied to a full time position prior to the time the referral was made, the monetary referral reward will not be honored.
  • Monetary referral awards will be paid after the referred employee starts work with NNS.
  • The following individuals are exempt from participation in the NNS employee referral program:
    • Managers or individuals involved in the hiring process or hiring decision of the job seeker.
    • Summer interns, co-ops and part-time employees.
    • Employees whose referrals were identified through their participation in any NNS-sponsored event or recruitment program (i.e. job fairs, college recruiting events, NNS Scout Program).
    • Employees who work in HII Human Resources.
    • Employees who are specifically prohibited from participation in the Employee Referral Program as a result of any labor agreements, or other such circumstances.
    • Employees enrolled in HII/NNS AIP or higher bonus-eligible program(s).
    • Referrals of temporary agency or contract employees who worked for HII within the past 12 months.
    • Referrals of current employees of HII in any capacity (including consultants and contractors).
  • NNS Human Resources Talent Acquisition reserves the right to change or terminate the program at any time for any reason at the sole discretion of NNS Human Resources Talent Acquisition. NNS Human Resources Talent Acquisition reserves the right to administer and interpret the Employee Referral Program at its discretion.

Failure to comply with program guidelines may negatively impact your ability to receive a monetary referral reward.
