Formal and informal educational opportunities are available to all employees, including leadership and personal development courses, mentoring, town halls, lunch and learns, ERG programming and panels.

Ingalls Shipbuilding offers the Supply Chain Academy, Business Management Academy, and Defense Acquisition University. In partnership with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, free courses are available to learn new skills and sharpen existing ones in areas such as principles of management, excel, and blueprinting reading.
The Generational Integration Focus Team (GIFT) employee resource group recently hosted the Start Here, Grown Here Symposium to help shipbuilders learn about the many opportunities for professional development and career growth for all generations, including breakout sessions on leadership development, stress management, organizational skills and public speaking, mock interviews, and leadership tutorials.
