Newport News Shipbuilding has for more than 140 years built ships that have served the nation in peace and war, in times of adversity and in times of abundance. The legacy of “Always Good Ships,” includes the design, construction, overhaul and repair of more than 800 ships for the U.S. Navy and commercial customers.
Kari Wilkinson is executive vice president of HII and president of the Newport News Shipbuilding division in Newport News, Virginia. Named to this position in 2025, Wilkinson has the responsibility to lead, enable and support the more than 26,000 shipbuilders who design, build and maintain nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and nuclear-powered submarines.
