NEWPORT NEWS, Va., July 10, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE:HII) announced today that the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) has issued a notice to proceed into transition for the management transition process at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in Los Alamos, New Mexico, to Triad National Security LLC. After a four-month transition period, the team will assume full management and operational responsibility for the laboratory.

Huntington Ingalls Industries’ (NYSE:HII) SN3 subsidiary and Bay West LLC have been approved by the Small Business Administration to enter into a mentor-protégé relationship under the All Small Mentor-Protégé Program. The commitment between SN3 (mentor) and Bay West (protégé) will provide beneficial business development opportunities for both companies and enhance the range of capabilities they can offer to the federal government. Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE:HII) announced today that its Newport News Industrial (NNI) subsidiary will continue its partnership with Westinghouse Electric Company for domestic nuclear power plant construction and will become a supply partner for Westinghouse in support of global opportunities. As part of this continuing partnership, the companies have completed contract negotiations for NNI to fabricate structural modules for the shield buildings that encase the containment vessel for domestic AP1000 power plants under construction.
