U.S. SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION APPROVES MENTOR-PROTEGE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SN3 AND SYNERGY SOLUTIONS

BROOMFIELD, Colo., Feb. 04, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE:HII) announced today that its SN3 subsidiary will participate in the 8(a) Business Development Mentor-Protégé Program. SN3 will work collaboratively with Synergy Solutions, Inc. to provide general and technical business knowledge while building a mutually beneficial business relationship for future government contracts.

The U.S. Small Business Administration designed the Mentor-Protégé Program to enable successful firms to provide various forms of business development assistance to 8(a) Business Development Program participants. The SBA approved the companies’ participation in the program.

“SN3 welcomes the opportunity to mentor our trusted partner Synergy,” said Gerald Boyd, SN3’s vice president of business development. “This relationship will allow us to assist them in further developing their core business.”

Synergy is an SBA-certified 8(a) and economically disadvantaged, woman-owned small business based in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The company provides a full spectrum of administrative and professional support services for nuclear facility operations, as well as security, environmental, health and safety services.
