NEWPORT NEWS SHIPBUILDING TO DEDICATE 12TH HABITAT FOR HUMANITY HOUSE

ADVISORY, May 12, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --
What:
Shipbuilders from Huntington Ingalls Industries' Newport News Shipbuilding division will join Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg and community leaders to dedicate the 12th Habitat for Humanity house that the shipyard has helped to build.
Speakers will include Rep. Bobby Scott; State Sen. John Miller; Newport News City Council members Rob Coleman and Sharon Scott; Carolyn Pittman, Newport News Shipbuilding's vice president and chief financial officer; Cathy McQuade, president-elect, Habitat for Humanity board of directors; Karen Joyner, CEO, Virginia Peninsula Food Bank; and Michael Lee, vice president, United Steelworkers Local 8888.

During the dedication ceremony, the keys to the new house will be given to Jeremiah and Crystal Lamberty and their family. The shipyard has partnered with Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg since 2002 to build homes for families in Hampton Roads.
