McLEAN, Va., (Nov. 14, 2025) — HII’s Mission Technologies division hosted its sixth annual Global Day of Caring on Nov. 1, uniting more than 450 employees and family members for community service projects across the U.S. and in South Korea.
Mission Technologies’ teams supported a wide range of causes — from food banks and environmental cleanups to military and veteran services. Their collective effort showcased HII’s values in action and the power of purpose-driven service.
Participating U.S. locations included Alabama, California, Georgia, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Washington.
“Global Day of Caring remains a powerful way for our workforce to show up with purpose and respond to real community needs,” said Miranda Williams, Mission Technologies’ manager of organizational development, who has coordinated Global Day of Caring since its inception.
“This year, many of the food banks and nonprofit partners are reporting unprecedented demand and resource constraints. Through charitable giving and hands-on volunteering, our teams help fill critical gaps that strengthen the safety net for those who need it most.”
The impact of this year’s Global Day of Caring extended in unexpected ways. One employee who participated in the virtual blood drive for the American Red Cross received notification that their donation was a match for a patient in need — a powerful reminder of how even a single act of service can save a life.
Another standout project was with Operation Homefront in Falls Church, Virginia, where HII volunteers were joined by a dozen service members from the U.S. Army Command and Control Support Agency to assemble hundreds of meal boxes for military families.
Operation Homefront CEO Rear Adm. Alan Reyes, U.S. Navy Reserve, and Senior Director Vivian Dietrich presented HII with a certificate of appreciation and coins in recognition of exceptional service. Master Sgt. Sol Lee, operations chief for USACCSA, also presented HII with a coin on behalf of the command team, expressing gratitude for the opportunity and noting that service members’ feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
