Five HII Asian and Pacific Islander Professionals Employees Honored at SASE CONNECT 2024 for Career Excellence and Leadership

NEWPORT NEWS, Va., (Nov. 20, 2024) — Five HII (NYSE: HII) employees were honored at SASE CONNECT 2024, the annual National Convention and STEM Career Fair hosted by the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE). The event took place in October 2024 in Boston. The honorees were celebrated for their exceptional achievements in delivering the advantage to HII’s customers, advancing company goals, and contributing to the nation. They were also recognized for their leadership and impact as Asian and Pacific Islander (API) professionals in science and engineering.
Employee Awards and Honors:
- Career Achievement Award: Saira Brenner, vice president of operations at Mission Technologies, Nandakumar Ramanujam, vice president of strategic technology initiatives and artificial intelligence operations at HII, and Yakong Wong, project management analyst at Newport News Shipbuilding, received the Career Achievement Award. This honor recognizes professionals who have made significant accomplishments in their fields and serve as role models and mentors for API individuals in technology.
- Employee Resource Group (ERG) Leadership Award: Emmylou Mosely, engineering manager at Newport News Shipbuilding, was recognized with the ERG Leadership Award for her dedication to advancing the mission of HII’s employee resource group and her pivotal role in enhancing the company’s support for its API workforce.
- Promising Professional Award: Tri Nguyen, electrical engineer at Newport News Shipbuilding, received the Promising Professional Award, which highlights early-career professionals who demonstrate exceptional potential for future contributions to science and engineering.
