We are the sole designer, builder and refueler of U.S. Navy nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and one of only two shipyards capable of designing and building nuclear-powered submarines. Located in Newport News, Virginia, we are the largest industrial employer in the state, employing more than 25,000 shipbuilders.

2025 Internships: Now Accepting Applications

We offer paid summer internships. Students must be able to work full time (40 hours a week) for 10 consecutive weeks. Many of our summer interns transition into co-ops or accept full-time offers starting after they graduate. We are currently accepting applications for our 2025 program with opportunities to work in business management, engineering, IT, supply chain management and more.

The 2025 summer intern application period ends December 1, 2024.

Co-ops

Earn while you learn. We offer competitive pay and opportunities for students to gain experience while pursuing an education. To be enrolled in this program, students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA, be enrolled in a four-year degree or 2+2 program as a full-time student (pursuing 12 credits or more), and able to commit up to 20 hours a week.
