Todd West

VICE PRESIDENT, IN-SERVICE AIRCRAFT CARRIER PROGRAMS

Todd West is vice president of In-Service Aircraft Carrier Programs for Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, located in Newport News, Va. He was appointed to this position in 2020 and is responsible for planning and executing aircraft carrier refueling and complex overhaul programs and carrier inactivations.

West has over 37 years of shipyard experience and in-depth knowledge of program construction and overhaul experience gained through his work on multiple aircraft carrier refueling and complex overhauls (RCOH). He began his shipyard career as a combat Systems engineer in the Carrier Overhaul Program. Since then, he has held positions of increasing responsibility including engineering supervisor, construction superintendent, and construction director. Prior to his current role, he served as program director for USS George Washington (CVN 73) and was responsible for oversight of the carrier’s RCOH.

West earned a bachelor’s of science degree in electrical engineering from Old Dominion University. He is a member of the board of trustees and involved in community outreach through his church. West is also an active member of the Virginia Peninsula Sportsmen’s Association (VPSA).
