For the last 50 years, HII has built all large deck amphibious assault ships for the US Navy. As the centerpiece of Expeditionary Strike Groups, they can transport more than 1,500 Marines and their equipment as well as a combination of landing craft and aircraft, including the new F-35B Joint Strike Fighter. These ships are versatile and support a full range of humanitarian and combat operations.
